Lakshmi Kumar
Yoga and Pilates Instructor

Yoga was a part of our family routine growing up in California, New Delhi, and Bangalore. I also attended a few sessions as an adult during the 18 years we lived in Melbourne. However, it was while we lived in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia that I sought out Yoga and Chiropractic/Myofascia care for a shoulder injury in place of surgery. This was a phase soon after my daughter was born and I had taken a break from a busy career in Finance. I also experienced a Neuro Linguistic Program (NLP) at the same time conducted by a close friend. Yoga and NLP in combination started going past my physical injury into awareness of the mind and self-contemplation. I woke up with a new appreciation and understanding of the benefits of Yoga, the mindfulness and sense of balance and peace it created, of course while still providing an excellent cardio, core strength and toning workout. I completed my formal RYT 200 certification after moving to Chicago and started taking up teaching opportunities that came my way. This includes classes at studios, corporations, school districts and private groups. I also run Mindfulness and Meditation workshops, relaxation sessions at Corporate Strategy days and Chair Yoga at various private and public events. I was fortunate to meet Ruth at Infinity Dance serendipitously through a lovely friend and am so thrilled to teach Yoga classes at various levels, always tailored to our students needs in the beautiful, inviting space that her studio offers. Come join us at our next class!! Namaste
